October Progress Report

A quick post and then to actually writing.

Finished typing the first draft of Lacuna yesterday. The end is messy because I changed a key situation. The change makes sense, but it threw everything else off. It won’t be a difficult fix, but I’m not looking at this one again until after NaNoWriMo.

I’ve avoided looking at Rosetta Stone for a couple of weeks now. I plan on at least opening the file today.

I’ve got a number of poems I want to get typed and revised. I’ll be doing that today as well.

I’ve managed to avoid writing too much about Sage Sparrow and the Standing Griffins. In a fit of boredom at work, I continued the story I’d started last week, but I don’t know how committed I am to finishing it. I’ve got it worked out in my head, and that’s where it counts most.

Speaking of NaNoWriMo, I will end up losing two days in the middle as we head out of town to attend a friend’s wedding. This just means that I need to smash word counts on the days I have free. I don’t think this will be a problem. There are always lost days for various reasons — stuff to do, no inspiration, whatever. I usually finish — or rather hit the word count goal — before the end of the month anyway.

All right, then. Just after 10AM, time for a second cup of coffee and writing, writing, writing. Or playing spider solitaire all day. I haven’t decided.
